Der Grundstein war jedoch bereits vor seiner Zeit, im Jahre 1484 gelegt worden. Sie ist eine unregelm\u00e4\u00dfige Vierfl\u00fcgelanlage mit turmartigen Kanonenbastionen und wurde von Baumeister Hanschke errichtet. Diese Zwingburg war von einem Schutzgraben von 10 m Tiefe und 20 m Breite umgeben. 1637 wurde die Burg durch einen verheerenden Brand zerst\u00f6rt. Sie war einst eine pr\u00e4chtige Hofburg der Erzbisch\u00f6fe von Magdeburg.
