Ihm obliegt heute die Funktion des Rathauses, da das alte Rathaus Ende des 2. Weltkrieg zerst\u00f6rt und sp\u00e4ter komplett abgerissen wurde.<br \/>\nDie &#8222;Galeria Kaufhof&#8220; steht in etwa an der Stelle des 1581 errichteten Waagegeb\u00e4udes, das ebenfalls dem 2. Weltkrieg zum Opfer fiel. Das Portal des Waagegeb\u00e4udes steht heute noch im Innenhof der Moritzburg.<br \/>\nDas Stadthaus links im Bild (1891\/1894, Neogotik, Neorenaissance), diente der B\u00fcrgerschaft als Versammlungs- und Festgeb\u00e4ude.<br \/>\nDas H\u00e4ndeldenkmal wurde 1859 anl\u00e4sslich seines 100.
